RTA Family Fest
For a fifth year in a row RTA will be hosting Family Fest at Settler’s Landing as part of Cleveland’s July 4th fireworks celebration. The festival will run from 6:00 p.m. until dusk. Families are encouraged to ride the Waterfront Line to the Settler’s Landing Station, bring a blanket, and grab a spot on the hillside for a great view of the fireworks. RTA will be running extra trains before and after the fireworks to make travel to and from the Flats fast and convenient.

Veterans Memorial Bridge & Subway Tour
Cleveland ---Robert C. Klaiber, Jr., P.E., P.S., Cuyahoga County Engineer, is proud to announce a walking tour of the Veterans Memorial Bridge and subway. This tour is being held on Saturday, July 5, 2008, and, as in years past, the lower level will open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m. In addition, reservations are not needed for this is a self-guided tour.
"Over the years, these tours have become a staple in the summer holiday celebrations within Greater Cleveland," affirms Bob Klaiber. "Over 4,920 visitors visited the bridge during the three tours held in 2007." He also states that the various exhibits, films and the 1947 Presidential Conference Commission (PCC) streetcar have simply added to the allure of the tours.
The main entrance for the tour is located at the Cuyahoga County Engineer’s Office’s Bridge Garage. The address is 2433 Superior Viaduct, and free parking is available in the County Engineer’s lot, which is also located at this address. Cameras are encouraged, and the event is wheelchair and stroller accessible. This is an event for all ages. The remaining tour for 2008 is Saturday, August 30, 2008.

St. Malachi Center Old Angle Family Fun Festival

St. Malachi Center will host the Old Angle Family Fun Festival on Saturday July 5, 2008 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at 2416 Superior Viaduct, directly behind St. Malachi Church. The festival, rich with family activities, entertainment, and community resources, celebrates the history of the Old Angle neighborhood with the current community in an old fashioned carnival way. Games of skill and chance will be offered along with food, prizes, crafts, music, and more. Community organizations such as Cleveland Scholarship, Social Security, Lutheran Hospital, Women’s Outreach Center, Under The Wing, Cuyahoga Community College, Catholic Charities, and many others will be on hand to share their resources. The Old Angle Family Fun festival is offered as part of the July 4th Waterfront Festival sponsored by First Energy and The Flats Oxbow Association. There is no admission charge.
St. Malachi Center has been a part of the Old Angle neighborhood since 1985. Founded by St. Malachi Parish and The Community of St. Malachi, the ministry of St. Malachi Center is to empower the individual, nurture the family, and build the community. Services include a family literacy program, a shower program for the homeless, after school programs and summer camp for children and teens, a clothing ministry, and support groups and services.
